Rangoon Road may be familiar to some, but it is still very much underrated, considering the amount of cafes and eateries along this street. Brunches Cafe is one of them residing along this road, providing much respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. Conveniently located near Farrer Park mrt, this themed cafe has real life-sized cars and vintage vinyl chairs. We can’t help but appreciate the effort that went into decorating this cafe!
– Gail & Jem
Best part? You can actually purchase vintage items you love from this cafe. The old-school telephones are going for around $120.
Coffee on the Rock – $6.50
* Chocolate flavour at $6.80
G & J: The coffee comes in a frozen ice cube shaped like Konnyaku Fruit Jellies. The milk and sugar syrup comes in separate mini cups and jug. Indeed very photogenic! The coffee was not of the best quality, but looking at the presentation we doubt that’s what Brunches Cafe is going for anyway. A good pick-me-up nonetheless.
Not featured: Apple Juice with Aloe Vera ($5) – try not to order this unless you want Marigold Peel Fresh’s apple juice you can get at the supermarket.
Mixed Berries & Buttery Crumbles Waffles with Vanilla Ice-Cream – $10.50
* Grande (4 waffles) at $13.50G & J: This was as sinful as it gets, yet healthy at the same time with sides of sliced fruit. Though the strawberries were sour, the grapes and blueberries were sweet! Beneath the ball of vanilla ice cream, you can expect crushed buttery cookie crumbs that are super hard to resist. Waffles were also crispy without being hard or deflated.There’s nothing not to love about this plate of goodness!
With good food and ambience, it is hard to say no to this place. Plus points: Free WIFI!
They’ve got lunch sets available from 11am – 2pm, and you can expect chicken steak, seafood aglio olio and pork belly mash. Each set is about $17.50 and comes with soup and drink. We’d definitely be back to try the main courses!
