Cats milling about, scratching their bellies and snoozing in the sunlight. Dogs doing the same. The cohabitation of these two different species of animals are a sight to behold! Animal lovers will love this place.

Cat Village or Mao Chun (in Chinese), is located at Houtong Station, so if you’re coming by public transport:
Directions: Alight at 台北火車站 Taipei Main Station > Walk towards TRA to take train to 瑞芳 Rui Fang Station > Change train at Rui Fang Station to 侯硐 Hou Tong Station.
Cats are calm and not in the least bit bothered by the amount of people cooing over them. You can buy cat souvenirs at the little store there!
Overall, the place is a must-go because of how rustic it is. The feeling you get is very simple and peaceful. Also, our driver told us that a part of the place was used for filming of “那些年，我們一起追的女孩” (You are the Apple of my Eye). See if you can spot it when you’re there!
