At 335 Thonglor Soi 17, there’s an all-day eatery which serves pretty good and fanciful-looking brunch. Roast is quite a familiar sight to foreigners, but you’ll find a few Thais enjoying a good meal at the two-storey building known as The Commons. While the price can be quite hefty, we reckon a stop at this cafe wouldn’t hurt, especially since it’s worth the hype.

Efficient service aside, we also liked the layout of the cafe, which was spacious yet cozy.
Appetisers before lunch:
Freshly-baked bread & cold coffeePulled Pork Burger – 320 Baht (about SGD13)G & J: This was one of the best pulled pork burgers we have ever tasted. Not only was it perfectly seasoned, it was not greasy as well.
Seafood Stew – 420 Baht (about SGD17)G & J: The gravy was a tad salty, but the seafood was fresh and portion was generous.
Roasted Fried Chicken – 480 Baht (about SGD19)G & J: The meat was soft, tender and juicy, while the skin was crispy. With one peel, the skin fell off easily, and was very fragrant. The portioning was quite large, so order to share with friends!
As Roast is on the second floor, on your way up (or down) you’ll see a sign like this. We didn’t have time to check it out, but if you did, drop a comment below for us to tell us if it’s anything worth seeing!
Overall, a must-go. The food was impressive, and since you’re on a holiday anyway, just go ahead and splurge a little for a happy tumtum (:
