Changi City Point may be out of the way for some, but once you enter the mall you’ll be surprised to see that it is quite bustling, even on a weekday night. Table Manners sits on the outdoor part of the mall, where there are also bars and other cool restaurants that cater to mostly the working crowd. With fancy bulb lighting and benches-style dining, sit back, enjoy the cool breeze and unwind.
– Gail & Jem
King’s Burger – $20
G & J: The beef patty was juicy and perfectly grilled yet firm, and the sliced onions added a good crunch to the dish. There was garlic on the well-toasted sesame bun too. And nobody says no to runny eggs and crispy bacon. No wonder this is a “chef’s recommendation”. Served with a bowl of truffle fries and house salad. A stronger dose of truffle for the fries would have been perfect.
Angus Ribeye Steak – $26G & J: The steak doesn’t look like the best-looking steak around, but it was done well (we chose medium). Steak was beaten a little too flat so the overall satisfaction gained from chewing a piece in the mouth was not a lot. For $26, a thicker chunk of beef would be preferred. That aside, the seasoning and mushroom sauce went well with the steak. Also served with a side of truffle fries and house salad with a tinge of lemon and vinegar.
Prices are a little on the steep side, but this place is worth a visit if you’re looking to chill and soak up the bustling noises from the neighbouring bars. You’ll be glad to know they open till midnight.
